Sitting still and observing nature can be meditative. And creating art from these observations is a great way to reconnect with our only planet!

Come to the Earth Hour Festival at WWF-India’s Delhi office on March 23rd at 10am and learn to sketch and colour natural subjects in all their glory. You will have ample inspiration in our green leafy environs. From a pair of Indian Grey Hornbills to an abundance of Brown-headed Barbets and the occasional swoop of a Black Kite, there are subjects aplenty at WWF-India.

In the workshop, you will learn to observe the wonders of the natural world with an artist’s eye and express them on the page—with a pencil and watercolours alike. From sprawling trees to birds and insects, there are natural subjects all around you at any time of the day. Observing and recording them will also help you acquire knowledge of wildlife, habitats, and ecosystems. Jus bring a sketchbook, a pencil, a watercolour paint set, some round brushes (preferably number 0,1,4,6), a palette, and an empty glass for water -and your curiosity!

The instructor for this workshop, Richa Kedia is an expert at illustrating nature and wildlife. She has executed several art projects for reputed organisations like WWF-India, TRAFFIC India, WII, NTCA, FRI, multiple state forest departments, AIIMS, Wellcome Trust, IIITD, Pugdundee Safaris, Aramness, etc.
